Clamping Technology (workpiece clamping)

EMUGE Clamping Technology offers you a "custom-made" solution to many problems in the field of workpiece clamping . Thanks to the different clamping systems we use, you can choose from a great number of clamping tools, all adapted to the production equipment you are using.

On the following pages, we want to offer you a short description of the different clamping systems:

System SP

When an axial force is increased, the clamping sleeves move in the direction of the force, extending themselves at the same time. Any degree of play is eliminated, between the clamping sleeve and the body of the tool as well as between the clamping sleeve and the workpiece. The workpiece is firmly clamped. Depending on the tolerance of the workpiece and the design of the clamping tool and the clamping sleeves, the system SP will achieve runout limits of workpiece clamping but also for the clamping of tools.

We are sure that we will find the perfect solution for your own problem!

System SZ

If the workpiece which must be clamped has only a very short clamping basis, or if the diameter of the workpiece has a very large tolerance, the SZ system is the best solution.
In this system, a slotted collet is extended radially through the exertion of an axial force by means of a taper. At the same time, an axial movement is performed and the workpiece is clamped.

We are sure that we will find the perfect solution for your own problem!

System SG

Due to its construction, the SZ system permits extensions only to approximately tolerance class IT11. If you need to work with even larger tolerances, our SG system will help you.
In this system, a slotted clamping bush with a special buttress thread is screwed onto the body of the tool. When the axial force is increased the bush moves in the direction of the force, extending radially at the same time because of the flank angle of the thread; again, the workpiece is clamped. The axial component exerted on the workpiece increases the transferable torque and the rigidity of the clamping. This will guarantee a safe clamping even for workpieces which have to be machined on a large cutting section.

We are sure that we will find the perfect solution for your own problem!

System SH

Our hydraulic clamping system SH is mainly used where construction area is very limited. It will permit the clamping of long and thinwalled workpieces or of several identical workpieces at a time.
The SH clamping system is a closed system filled with hydraulic oil. This is put under pressure by a piston, extending the thin-walled elastic zone radially and clamping the workpiece, resp. the workpieces.

We are sure that we will find the perfect solution for your own problem!

System SM

In the production of, for example, high-precision gear wheels it is very important to keep the eccentricity between the pitch circle and the clamping bore as little as possible. For this purpose, we have designed our diaphragm clamping system SM. It serves for the clamping of the gear wheel in the pitch circle and for the machining of the clamping bore.
The clamping element is a ring disc with preferably three clamping jaws. For the clamping of thin-walled workpieces, however, the diaphragm may also be equipped with four or six jaws. These are either part of the diaphragm itself, or screwed on. If an axial force is exerted on the diaphragm this is bent through: The clamping jaws move axially and open themselves radially at the same time, loosening their hold on the gear wheel. Because of its elasticity, the diaphragm will return to its original position as soon as the axial force is reduced or ceases entirely. The gear wheel is clamped in an radial as well as in an axial direction.

We are sure that we will find the perfect solution for your own problem!
